Here’s an easy, refreshing and healthy summer treat for your tastebuds: apple cinnamon water.
Cinnamon is packed with nutrients that have been shown to improve brain function, balance blood sugars, reduce bad cholesterol levels, and even lower the impact of eating high fat meals. Apples, on the other hand, are full of antioxidant compounds that have been linked to reduced risk of heart disease.
The best part? When you’re finished drinking the water, you can snack on juicy cinnamon-flavoured apples!
What you’ll need:
- 1 thinly sliced apple (preferably organic)
- 1 litre water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Ice cubes
- Large pitcher
Combine all of the ingredients in the pitcher and set it in the fridge for an hour. Make sure to wash your apple very well – especially if it isn’t organic.
For larger portions, use more apples and toss in an extra cinnamon stick.
