The initial charcoal filter came with a white mesh cover - replacements do not have this cover, just the charcoal body. This is very fragile and actually broke in half when tapped lightly?? Is this the new standard for Rainfresh replacement filters?

Great price

I've been buying this from Lowe's for years. It does the job at a great price.

Love the taste of my water

I live in a town that the water tastes terrible and there is a strong chlorine odour. I use these filters and it removes the smell and the bad taste. They last a long time as well, I highly recommend this filter. I won't be wasting any more money on bottled water for now on.

This works awesome for tap water - water tastes very good with no bad chlorine taste. Water flow is almost the same as without a filter (careful - don't use 1 micron filter if you don't want slow water flow). This is perfect for tap water which comes already good for drinking. I have also connected my fridge ice-maker to the same output and ice doesn't have bad taste after it melts.
