FEATURES AND BENEFITS
HOW IT WORKS
P2S comprises of a ceramic filter with tubing attached, two separate water containers, one for the untreated water and the other for safe drinking water. The containers are shipped one nestled inside the other and are constructed from food-grade plastic.
Untreated water is poured in one of the containers which is then placed at a vertical height of not less than 3 feet (1m). The second container is placed at the ground level. The ceramic filter is placed in the dirty water container with the tube running down to the empty container.
Suction is applied to the end of the tube and water slowly passes through the ceramic filter and safe drinking water drips into the empty container at a max flow rate of 0.4 US GPH (1.5LPH). As water passes through the ceramic cartridges, harmful pathogenic bacteria and cyst are trapped inside the cartridges and safe drinking water passes through. Water can be shut down by turning the valve off, as required.
TESTING & CERTIFICATION
P2S uses Rainfresh 7300G ceramic filter cartridges that have been tested and certified by CSA International (component) to NSF/ANSI 53 for reduction of cysts (e.g. Cryptosporidium & Giardia).
They are also independently tested for reduction of coliform, E. coli & other bacteria (see below)
Contaminant | Reduction Efficiency | Log Reduction |
---|---|---|
E.coli (Faecal Coliform) | > 99.9999% | > 6 log |
Serratia marcescens | > 99.9999% | > 6 log |
