Water filters help rebuild Filipino communities one year after Typhoon Haiyan

Nearly one year has passed since Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. Regarded as the strongest tropical storm ever recorded in terms of wind speed, Haiyan affected over 14 million Filipinos and killed over 6,000.

But, thankfully, over the past year non-profit organizations and generous donations from across the world have helped Filipino communities to rebuild and recover. We’ve been honoured to have the opportunity to help by providing fresh, safe drinking water to families in need.

Over the past year, our team sent 9,000 gravity water filters and AR10 Disaster Relief Water Purification Systems to the Philippines. Our heavy-duty AR10, shown in the photo above, delivers safe drinking water from any source to over 25,000 people in just a single day! Our team tagged along with our NGO partner to help distribute and install our water treatment systems, and help educate thousands about water safety.

Our systems are still used every day by these families, and we’re so thankful to have had the opportunity to make a positive impact!
