Rainfresh Drinking Water System 1 (SST) is a compact water filter system that provides safe drinking water from any well, lake or river. It removes bacteria (such as E. coli), parasites (such as cryptosporidium & giardia), sediment, taste and odour. It easily installs under the kitchen or bathroom sink and includes a faucet to dispense filtered water. So you can give your family clean and safe drinking water without having to worry about your water safety or having to buy and carry bottled water. Does this require use of a separate tap or can it be connected to the main tap?
Rainfresh Drinking Water System is an excellent choice for removing bacteria such as E. coli, parasites etc from your drinking water. It includes a chrome faucet that is installed in addition to your regular kitchen faucet. The filter faucet is used for drinking water, cooking, coffee etc while the kitchen faucet continues to be used for washing dishes, rinsing etc. It is not recommended that the filter be hooked up to kitchen faucet for several reasons: a) Potential of cross contamination from hot water b) Reduced water flow from kitchen faucet. The filter has microscopic pores through which not even bacteria can pass; so water flow is lower than a fully open kitchen faucet c) Reduced filter life: When the filtered water will be used for non-critical applications such as washing dishes, the filter life will be used up. In our experience it is common and convenient to have a dedicated filtered water faucet. Excellent Product
Water tastes good. The filter life depends on the quality of your house water, you can use it longer if your house water is not very bad, not like other brands that has the auto shut off cartridge that u have to replace every 6 mos.
This is a product that lasts for years of excellent service.You can clean the filter without having to turn off the water,unlike many others.This filter is good for all sources of water, chlorinated or not,it even filters Giardia.Mine is over eight years old and still going strong.Filters are about thirty dollars and will last about a year,depending on your water.

Had an issue with my well water where I had a lot of fine grey sediment getting through the main house filters. Put this in under my sink and it took care of the rest. Even after getting my main filter issue fixed I’m still using this as the water does taste noticeable better.

Very nice styled tap included. Had one for 12 years and had water tested yearly. Always 0/0 reading. Cleaned periodically with the fine sand sponge included. Need to change filter will vary with how dirty the water is. Very efficient and well made Canadian product.

Bought this as a replacement for another system that I had installed. This is a much better and easier system to install. Absolutely no taste to the water and I must say an excellent after sale service from Rainfresh.
I was so happy with this system that my daughter also bought one and a friend visiting also bought one for his 5th wheel. Excellent all around.

We installed this at our cottage. The installation was pretty simple, we used a 1/4″ compression T fitting rather than the supplied saddle valve and had to be a little careful fitting the supply tube.
We draw water directly from the river and the filter works really well. It does clog pretty quickly though and requires frequent cleaning. We are thinking about putting an additional 5 micron carbon or particulate filter upstream of this filter. Overall, I recommend this unit, it is simple an it works.

Seems to be easy to install, and has a reusable porcelain filter, Just use the provided open mesh sandpaper and clean the exterior off according to directions. I have used one for many years and they work well.

Bought this for our already filtered well water. Works quite well as a final stage, just for drinking water. Water coming out of the filter is a little weak, but is understandable. Filter can be wash and reuse, last for a year. It’s quoted as a 0.3 micron filter.

Having a problem with a drip from the top of the filter unit. Any suggestions? The filter itself does a great job.

Sailboat Installation – I installed this on a sailboat in both the galley and the head. I now feel confident that the water I am drinking is safe. I use it for cooking and personal hygiene. I chlorinate my holding tank and use that water strictly for cleaning. Water tastes great.
I added this filter to my cottage kitchen water setup. I’ve got the mass flow filter as a first stage particulate filter, then the UV light to prevent sickness from the water, then I added the the 5 micron filter. Easy set up. I have a separate line at the kitchen sink where the ceramic SST filter is installed underneath the sink. The water all comes from a lake with iron coloured clarity. The water is super clean and fresh. Better than city water 1000% hands down.
Some time back we purchased a cottage set up for a house we had in Dominica in the Caribbean. We collected rain water from our roof and stored it in a large cistern. The SST ceramic filter worked flawlessly. We NEVER had any ill effects from drinking the water or making ice cubes from it. We have even bought one for friends and shipped it down to them. Sure beats boiling water to make it safe!!!
