When disasters strike, often electricity is disrupted creating further challenges for supplying safe drinking water. Worldover, through aid agencies and NGOs, Rainfresh gravity water filter systems have been providing safe drinking water from virtually any water source (lake, river, pond, stream, well etc) without the use of pumps or electricity.
These stainless steel gravity filters (SS304) utilize Rainfresh’s unique ceramic filtration technology to trap >99.99999% pathogenic bacteria (e.g. E. coli) and protozoan cysts (e.g. Cryptosporidium & Giardia) in addition to reducing sediment and suspended matter down to 0.3 micron absolute (1 micron = 1/1000 mm).
The gravity filter system has two stainless steel (SS304) containers, one on top of the other. Four ceramic cartridges are housed in the top container which is filled with untreated water. Water slowly passes through the ceramic cartridges where bacteria, cyst and other microbes are retained and killed. Safe water collects in the bottom container under gravity at a rate of up to 2.6 liters per hour.

Rainfresh steel gravity water filter provides safe drinking water from virtually any water source (lake, river, pond, stream, well etc) without the use of pumps or electricity to disaster stricken areas and places without access to safe drinking water
The stainless steel gravity water filter utilizes Rainfresh’s unique ceramic filtration technology to trap >99.99999% pathogenic bacteria (e.g. E. coli) and protozoan cysts (e.g. Cryptosporidium & Giardia) in addition to reducing sediment and suspended matter down to 0.3 micron absolute (1 micron= 1/1000 mm).

This is a great product. We use it for camping using lake water. Only problem is it doesn’t travel well and the filters break so best left in one place.
Great Unit. have used it for 4 years in a remote cabin.
We have safe water without transporting spring water containers. No fear of Beaver Fever..
I live in a city and have health concerns. I love this system. I feel confident in my water. I also like that this is a Canadian company. Their customer service has been excellent.
Excellent…better than Berkey
We used to have a Berkey filter which was quite expensive and unnecessarily overpriced at $500. I researched the Rainfresh product and found that its Canadian made and NSF certified and at under $200 including shipping it is far more affordable (less than half the price). The buckets have a high gloss mirror finish and the ceramic cartridges are also available from Lowe’s. The lake water from this Rainfresh unit just tastes fantastic. Have sent the water for lab tests several times and every single time the bacteria and E. coli tests come out zero. Highly recommend this Canadian product!!

Hello, We are happy with the water that we get from the gravity filter.One disappointment is that we cannot see the level of filtered water in the lower container.If there is a way of manufacturing a container with a window to see the level of water like some electric kettles it be of great help This will prevent over filling that may cause leak and flooding

Potable Water anywhere
I have used the Rainfresh ceramic type under sink filter system for decades, now we will have the same quality water at the cottage without the need for running water. Was looking at another US brand at more than double the price when I came across this. Great price, in Canadian dollars. Like the under sink filter system the filters are easy to clean. Highly recommended.

Bought a month ago for cabin were my water source is a hand dug well, water is really brown, after ran threw filters you would think you were drinking bottled water. Very happy should have bought one ten years ago.

Amazing water filter
After using this for a month I must say it works great, we were buying 18L jugs of water for drinking and this instantly started saving us money! The water we filter is from our well and it tastes very clean much better then city water or bottled water and no plastic particles or chemicals used in water treatment.

This water filter is honestly the best. We wanted something that would be practical down the road when we live in a tiny house or trailer… and this fit the bill. Our current rental property has well water and we did not want to buy bottled water. We had also looked into the Berkey but the Rainfresh was less expensive and also made in Canada which is really nice. We’ve been using this filter for over a year now, every single day, and we drink A LOT of water. It is excellent, and the perfect way to get quality drinking water while retaining mineral content.
