Will this Rainfresh fridge filter fit in place of my original fridge filter?
Yes, it is guaranteed to fit in place of the fridge filter models listed in the product description and the package
Is the Rainfresh fridge filter as good as my original fridge filter?
The Rainfresh fridge filter has as good, or better, performance as compared to your OEM fridge filter. It is certified to NSF/ANSI standard 53 and 42 for reduction of chemicals, pesticides, chlorine, taste and odour. It is also certified to CSA B483.1.
Is it easy to change one of the fridge filter?
Yes. The Rainfresh fridge filter can be changed by the average homeowner easily in seconds. Instructions are included with the product.
Does the Rainfresh fridge filter have an expiration date?
No. The fridge filter can sit on your shelf until you need it.
Do I need to lubricate the gaskets on my filter?
Generally, the fridge water filter does not need any lubrication but a packet of food grade lubricant is included with the fridge filter for ease of installation and removal.
How tightly should I install the filter?
The fridge filter will hit a stop when fully tightened. As long as you install it by hand (not using tools) you will feel the filter hit the stop and know that it is properly installed.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through the filter before I drink the water?
It is recommended to run water through the filter for about 3 gallons to flush out the filter and get the filter thoroughly wet so that you get the best performance out of the filter.
I just installed my filter and there are black particles in the water/ my water is a dark color – is that normal?
Yes. The particles are from the carbon block inside the filter. Sometimes water may be temporarily milky due to tiny air bubbles displaced from the filter. The water is safe to drink and should clear up in a few days as you use your filter more. If your water does not clear up within 3-4 days, please contact us
How long does this fridge filter last once it is installed?
On average it should last up to 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.

INSTRUCTIONS
Protect filter cartridge from freezing.
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after
the system.
1. Locate your existing filter. Remove the old filter from the filter mount by turning it counter-clockwise as shown in the picture.
2. Carefully remove the plug on top of the new filter (twisting it back and forth eases the plug out).
3. Place the top of the new filter into the refrigerator filter mount. Be sure that the START arrow on the filter label is aligned with arrow on the filter mount.
4. Twist the filter clockwise until the STOP arrow on the label is aligned with the arrow on the mount. The arrows must be aligned to activate the water valve located inside the filter mount. IF THE VALVE IS NOT FULLY ACTIVATED THE WATER FLOW WILL BE SLOWER THAN NORMAL. In some instances the partially activated valve may cause a “chattering” noise in the water line.
5. Check the water flow by filling a glass from the refrigerator water dispenser. If the water flow is slow or there is “chattering”, remove and reinstall the filter making sure it is seated securely and the arrows are aligned. Check again.
6. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at 0.5 GPM (about 2½ gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
7. Check the filter for any leaks. Inspect the mount area and filter bottom for any sign of moisture
8. Reset the “replace filter” light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds. Your new filter is ready for use
